About The Interpreter’s Lab

The Interpreter’s Lab is one of Canada’s longest-standing independent interpreter training programs. Our courses are informed by international standards (ISO TC 37/SC 5) and delivered by certified interpreters and experienced instructors. We focus on building both knowledge and practical skills, preparing interpreters for real-world work.

fully online, with weekly 2-hour sessions (all sessions are recorded and made available to the members of the applicable cohort - recordings are not substitutes for attendance) and 16 weeks of access to course materials

Time Commitment

Weekly Time Commitment

The ICS program runs over eight weeks and combines independent online study with weekly live, instructor-led sessions - one 2 hour session per week. Participants should plan for regular weekly engagement, including completing modules in advance and attending live sessions focused on applied practice and professional discussion.

Course Access Period

From your official start date, you will have full access to all course materials, including online modules and recorded sessions, for 12 weeks. This Course Access Period (CAP) allows flexibility to review content, consolidate learning, and complete all program requirements within a structured timeframe.

The Interpreter’s Lab Annual Membership: Year Round Learning, Practice, and Support

Interpreters, including recent TIL graduates, can join their community of peers for support, connect and continued learning. Special pricing available for LiM interpreters.
